Day 1. Arrival day in Chiang Mai
We will pick you up at the airport and take you to our tour hotel in the heart of the city. Depending on your arrival time, you can go sightseeing, shopping or just relax by the pool. In the evening, we will have dinner in one of the restaurants on the river bank. Afterwards, we will visit the famous “night market”.
Day 2. Chiang Mai – Chiang Khong (border town to Laos)
After breakfast, you will pick up your motorbike for the tour. Then it's off. Today we're heading north to Chiang Khong. On our route there are hot springs where you can actually cook eggs. Shortly before Chiang Rai we visit another attraction, the white temple, built by a famous Thai artist. When we arrive in Chiang Khong, we check into a hotel right on the Mekong River, where we can take a look across the river to the Laotian side.
Day 3. Chiang Khong – Luang Namtha (Laos)
From the hotel we go straight to the border, where after the border formalities on the Thai side we will cross the Mekong River on the Friendship Bridge. After we have received our visas for Laos on the Laotian side (approx. 2 hours in total) we can now enter Laos. Once we have arrived in Laos we drive through the mountains of northern Laos, past several ethnic minority villages to Luang Namtha, a small town near the Chinese border, where we will spend our first evening and night in Laos in a simple resort with good Laotian cuisine.
Day 4. Luang Namtha - Nong Khiaw
Today, on our second day in Laos, we have a 230 km long road that takes us through countless villages, mountains, and viewpoints through northern Laos to Nong Kiaw. After arriving at a small resort right on the banks of the Nam Ou River, we can now enjoy a drink and the sunset in a dreamlike landscape.
Day 5. Nong Khiaw - Luangprabang
After a hearty breakfast, we will drive through fantastic valleys towards Luang Prabang (the old town of Luang Prabang was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995). In the early afternoon, we will reach our comfortable guest house, which is located directly on the banks of the Nam Kan River. After dinner, you will have the opportunity to visit the night market in Luang Prabang, which offers a large selection of handicrafts from Laos.
Day 6. Luangprabang Sight seeing!
Today we have time to take the laundry to the dry cleaners and do some shopping. Those who are happy to relax in half a day have the opportunity to go on a tour with our tour guide to one of the most beautiful waterfalls I have ever seen. Back in Luang Prabang there is a lot more to see, such as the temple complex “Wat Phousi” or you can just relax in a café. We will enjoy the evening in one of the many restaurants on the banks of the Mekong.
Day 7. Luangprabang - Vang Vieng
After relaxing in Luang Prabang, we drive south, where after about 20 km we will cross the Nam Khan River by boat to see a wonderful waterfall. We then head to Vang Vieng via very winding mountain passes that demand our full attention, where we are rewarded with a spectacular view of the mountain peaks in the early afternoon. After another 100 km we reach our small resort with a pool in Vang Veng.
Day 8. Vang Vieng – Sayaboury
Today we will travel through fantastic landscapes and cross the highest pass on this tour at over 1800 meters. After we have conquered the mountain, we will have lunch in a small Laotian restaurant. In the evening, you can relax in a charming guest house in Sayaboury.
Day 9. Sayaboury – Pua (Thailand)
Today we head back towards Thailand over very narrow and winding mountain roads, with a very exotic jungle landscape, past several villages. At midday, we will re-enter Thailand at the Huay Khon border crossing. Towards the evening, we will reach Pua, where you can enjoy the wonderful view of your resort.
Day 10. Pua - Phayao
Today we have another top-notch day of riding. A very well-developed winding road (top 10 of the most beautiful motorcycle roads in the world) through a fantastic mountain landscape with little traffic makes the heart beat faster. In the early evening we reach the town of Phayao, which is located on a beautiful lake. If you like fish, then this is the right place for you. Many restaurants here sell fresh fish in different variations, but of course there are also delicacies of Thai cuisine.
Day 11. Phayao – Chiang Mai
A few kilometres along our route today there is a beautiful waterfall, where we will stop before heading back to Chiang Mai on winding roads. We will reach Chiang Mai in the early afternoon. There will still be time to relax in the hotel or have a relaxing massage. We will then round off our eventful tour with a meal together in the evening.
